Yukon Indian Development Corporation Ltd. (YIDC) is owned by seventeen First Nations in the Yukon and Northern B.C.

YIDC has a Board of Directors of six (chosen by Tribal Councils and/or affiliated First Nation shareholders) with one additional ex-officio Elder Director. Yukon Indian Development Corporation Ltd., a Yukon and Northern British Columbia First Nation owned and controlled corporation, within the framework of First Nation values, will work towards the creation of sustainable wealth and stability for its shareholders through the acquisition, development, and establishment of profit oriented business entities, including coordinating such developments with its shareholders’ corporate entities, while ensuring respectful and innovative development of human, physical and cultural resources.

Guiding Principles

Yukon Indian Development Corporation Ltd. together with its shareholders will strategize and plan for economic and business development based on the guiding principles of:

• Together today for our children tomorrow (business development must take a long-range sustainable development approach)
• Sharing, cooperation, respect and trust (First nations must work together to avoid competition, realize economies of scale, and pursue territorial, national, and multi-national opportunities while respecting each First Nation Shareholder's traditional territory, autonomy, and individual business ventures)
• Communication and accountability (YIDC must ensure all shareholders are kept fully informed of all investments and activities and tha the Board of Directors and management are accountable to all shareholders)

Ownership

YIDC shareholders include the seventeen First Nations in the Yukon and Northern BC and has equity in NASCo, Lynn Office Rental Properties, FNBC, Northern Vision Development Limited Partnership, and BLING.
